Young Carers

Many young carers look after a parent, sibling or grandparent. Caring responsibilities may include doing extra jobs around the house such as cooking or cleaning or helping with someone's personal care and mobility. Sometimes they may not do much actual care, but they are significantly impacted by living in the same household as someone who requires assistance.

The school have formed a partnership with Centre 33 and Caring Together, to provide support to and raise awareness of young carers within our school.

If you believe your child may be a Young Carer, please complete this form to make us aware:

We have a thriving Young Carers group in school, to provide support and respite from caring responsibilities, an opportunity to give carers time just to be children and enjoy fun activities with Young Carers from across the school.  The children chose the name for our group - the Non Boring Club. They even designed the logo. You may see some of the children proudly wearing their club badge.

We were awarded a Young Carers in Schools award on 30th June 2024.
The award is part of the Young Carers in School programme run by charities The Children’s Society and Carers Trust. The programme provides primary and secondary schools across England with step-by-step guidance for teachers, leaders and non-teaching staff to gain the practical tools they need to help young carers. We won the award by demonstrating how our school supports young carers.
