I have lived In Eaton Socon for almost 12 years. I am a former Governor and Chair of Governors at several schools in my home town of Welwyn Garden City. I serve on Huntingdonshire District Council for the ward of St Neots Priory Park and Little Paxton. I am married with three grown up children.
Why did you decide to become a Governor?
My first Governorship was as a parent Governor, this enabled me to take a very active part in the school life of my young children, as they moved from infant to Junior school and ultimately onto secondary I joined the relevant governing bodies as parent, and District Council appointee.
What are the particular challenges of Crosshall Junior School?
Crosshall is an excellent School with an equally excellent reputation, I see my role of Chair of the Governing body as one of support to the Head Teacher and her Staff, as well as being available and open to comments from parents and pupils alike in an effort to ensure the future success of the school.
Is there any crossover between your work as a governor and your professional life?
There is no crossover between my work as a governor and my professional life .
How have you been involved/contributed in the development of Crosshall Junior School?
I have served on the governing body for 4 years with 2 as Chair. I am also a Trustee of the Academy Trust.
