NAME: Chris Dorey
TYPE: Staff Governor
I trained to be a teacher 12 years ago at York St John and did a BA QTS with Theology and Religious Studies. I taught for two years at another local school and when a job at Crosshall came up I applied for it. I have been at Crosshall for ten years and during my time here my involvement within the school has increased and I am always keen to develop personally as a professional.
I decided to become a governor as I have enjoyed being a member of the Senior Leadership Team and was keen to get more involved with the school. Being part of the Senior Leadership Team enables me to discuss ways to change and improve things in our school. Crosshall has always supported and encouraged me in my personal and professional development and I also wanted to join the governing body in order to give something back to the school.
I have led and developed science in the school, achieved the Primary Science Quality Mark (Gold Award), mentored a number of trainee teachers, achieved the national NPQSL leadership award and am now in my fourth year of being a team leader. I am currently working with other local schools in St Neots in a Polli:Nation Project looking at ways we can improve our school grounds.
I thoroughly enjoy working at Crosshall and am always keen to look at new ways to engage and inspire the children in our school. I really enjoy coming to work each day and it really is a place where children and adults can ‘Achieve your Dreams’.
