CROSSHALL JUNIOR SCHOOL GOVERNOR PROFILE
NAME: CARRIE MEEKS
TYPE: PARENT GOVERNOR
I live in St Neots with my Husband and our two daughters, one of which attends Crosshall Junior School. I have lived in St Neots my whole life and actually attended Crosshall Junior School in the 1990’s.
Following completion of a Masters Degree in 2007, I began work as a Social Worker in Bedfordshire and have spent the past twelve years working with vulnerable children and their families.
I am extremely interested in children’s education and the opportunities that education provides. As my children attend the School, I thought it would be a good time to become involved and learn more about the School that my children attend.
My experience working with vulnerable children allows me an insight into how a child’s emotional development can impact their learning and experience of school and I feel this knowledge and understanding will be useful to me in my role as Parent Governor.
Since becoming a Parent Governor in September 2018, I have joined the School Improvement Committee, which looks at how Crosshall Junior can continue to improve and ensure that we always do our best to ensure Crosshall does its very best for our children.
