NAME: Carl Hall
TYPE: Parent Governor
TERM SERVED: Commenced November 2020
I moved to St Neots with my now wife in 2010, having grown up in Bedfordshire. I have been a Civil Servant for the past 20 years, initially at HMRC but latterly in Ministerial Private Offices on Whitehall.
I wanted to be a governor to try and give something back and become more involved in the community. My daughter started at Crosshall Junior School in September 2020, having been at the Infant School previously. With Covid lockdowns, and my wife in the vulnerable category, I have been home working since March 2020 and with more time available to try and make a difference. My work has led me through a great number of corporate responsibilities - logistics, financial management, IT, crisis management etc. I would hope that I can be of use to the governing body in helping to add a voice of guidance from a parent’s perspective.
As a parent at this very difficult time, I’m keen to make sure we are able to get the best out of this very hard time to help improve learning outcomes in the school as things return to normal. A strong link with the parent community is key, in my mind, to this collective effort.
