Professional days
Every year the staff undergo training as part of their professional development. Recent training days have included digital media, analysis of assessment data, Assessing Pupil Progress (APP) and report writing.
School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)
As a school, we work in partnership with Nottingham University in the training of postgraduates for the teaching profession. The students are based in the school throughout the academic year, teaching classes from Reception to Year 6.

National Primary PGCE – SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training)
1 year full-time
This programme offers an opportunity to gain qualified teacher status and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, carrying credits towards a Masters level programme, through school- centred training in some of the best primary schools in the country and working with one of the best universities in the country.
About the course
This is an intensive one year course in which trainees will complete a Nottingham University Postgraduate Certificate by distance learning, based in a school of their choice from a national consortium of around 50 schools.
You will have a rewarding and worthwhile training year which equips you to take your place in the profession as a qualified teacher, ready to benefit the children placed in your care. The course also offers the opportunity to complete two assignments at Masters level and accrue credits which may be put towards a future MA in Education as part of your ongoing professional development.
