Academy Trust Members and Governors

The Members of the Academy Trust comprise the signatories of the Memorandum (required to set up the Academy as a Limited Company) and the chair of governors.

Members appoint governors (who act as directors of the company) in accordance with the Articles of Association.  Parent and staff governors are elected.

The Governing Body is made up of parents, staff and representatives of the community and local businesses. Governors act as critical friends to the school by giving support, but also provide a high degree of challenge. They evaluate all aspects of resources and the school’s finances in order to achieve outstanding value for money. Being a governor is also a great opportunity to get to know more about the school.

Governors are appointed for a term of four years, are expected to attend one governor meeting per term and to sit on one of the committees focused on curriculum development or school resources. Elections are held as vacancies arise.
