iDiscover

All year groups at Crosshall Junior School undertake iDiscover projects.

Personalised learning is essential for all children. Learning is multi-layered.  A child who is studying the Tudors is also learning about relationships, encountering failure and success.  Time in school is maximised and achievement is higher and broader.   The knowledge no longer only flows from the teacher, but can be found by the child in a variety of places.  The child’s role in the process is more respected and therefore purposeful steps are taken to engage the child in his/her learning.  The learning includes not just the subject specific work that schools have a duty to teach, but the skills of time management, problem solving, risk taking, relationships and team-work are developed.  From within this real context, the children are more emotionally invested in the work.  Its success and failure are more important to the child.  The learning becomes more memorable, and therefore deeper.
