SUMMER FAYRE POSTER COMPETITION

Crosshall Junior School Academy Trust : SUMMER FAYRE - 23rd June 2012

Dear Parents and children,

All children have been invited to take part in the SUMMER FAYRE POSTER COMPETITION.
This year’s topics are “the Olympics” and “the Jubilee”. Mrs. Weekes has again very kindly designed a number of different posters for us which have been distributed around the classrooms. Further copies, if required, can be obtained from the school office. Please return completed posters to school by Friday 25^th May at the latest to enable them to be judged before being displayed around the school. There will be one winner per year group who will win a £ 5.00 Argos voucher, plus a runner up who will receive a chocolate prize. Winners will be announced w/c 28^th May.

Please can you remind your child to write their name and class number on the back of their poster so that we can identify everybody who has entered the competition. Thank you.

More details on how you can get involved with the Summer Fayre will follow shortly.

Y5 Ringtones

Year Five have been creating their own mobile phone ringtones. Examples of the ringtones that were created as part of their ICT curriculum can be found here.

On 6th and 7th December the children invited adults from home to come and make their own ringtones. Year Five enjoyed welcoming all those adults into school. We would like some feedback about what visitors thought of the event, please see our year group page to do this.

YEAR 6 TRIPS

Visit to 'Hotel Thriller', a Halloween based performance, at Longsands College on Friday 4th November in the afternoon. We will be walking to and from Longsands (so remember a coat) and returning at 3.30pm.

Visit to 'St Mary's Church' in Eaton Socon as part of the Year 6 R.E. curriculum on Thursday 10th November in the morning. We will again be walking to and from the church so remember a coat.

Table Top Sale

We will be holding a TABLE TOP SALE on SATURDAY 12th NOVEMBER 2011.

Time: 10am - 12pm
Place: Crosshall Junior School Hall
Entrance fee: 50p

£6 per table

Refreshments such as tea/coffee, soft drinks and cakes will be available to buy during the event.

If you would like to book a table, please contact the school office.

Reminder - Duxford trip - Thursday 20th October.

Children need to bring:

water bottle;
inhaler;
waterproof coat.

They need to be wearing full school uniform and sensible footwear (school shoes).

Year 3 Swimming

Parents please note that 3SC will swim first from Monday 17th October and will need collecting at 3.20pm.

3HM/SF will swim second from that date and will return to school at 3.25 to 3.30pm.
